Bibi was too lonely

Barely one week ago, on March 10th, our rat grandma Nara died. She was living together with her daughter Bibi in one cage, while the other four ratz inhabit the second one. Every attempt of merging the two packs failed, and so somewhere down the road we gave up.

This morning when I was feeding the rats I found Bibi, also lying in the cage as if she was sleeping. Only seven days after her mommy died, Bibi now went over the rainbow bridge, too. She was nearly two years old and till her last day she was quite fit and jumped around like a young rat. All her life she spend with her mom, and so she was propably too lonely in this world. So she followed her mother into the next world. Farewell, lil’ Bibi! I miss you, my sweet cuddleball!

Nintendo DS Lite with Dr. Kawashimas Brain Training

My recent toy is a Nintendo DS Lite, which I was able to purchase second-hand, but barely used and at a bargain price from a friend. I also got a game, namely Dr. Kawashimas brain trainer.

Initially today I was shocked when I recognized that my brain is 80 (!) years old. Okay, perhaps it was due to the DS often not understanding what I said… but to tell the truth, I was not so good at mental arithmetic as well.

However, the DS is really amazing… it has got a micro and some games are working with voice entry, and the touchpad is ingenious in any event. And the very best is: It`s pink! smilie

Baton: Something different

Got this baton from Christa, as always I am very pleased about it. I love batons, give me more! smilie

Tell us something about with what you spend most time in your life.
Most time I spend with my husband and my doggy. My family is very important to me, that’s why I visit my parents and siblings as often as possible. In our family community has always been written in big letters, so that me come together leastwise once a month and have a meal together. Certainly I also show my face now and then at Mom and Dad, for example for taking a walk with my mother and our dogs.

Which significance your blog takes in this context?
About an hour per day, sometimes, when I install Themes or Plugins, even longer.

Would you even blog if nobody was reading your posts?
Good question… I don’t think so. I like blogging, but I absolutely look on my stats every day. If I would see that I had no visitors for few days, I think I would lose my impulse.

Does money play a role on maintaining your blog? If so, which, and if not, why?
Er, money? To what extent? My blog has a .de domain, therefore it costs money. Admittedly this is not namable because my hoster is a bargain.

Do you make our world better with what you are writing in your blog?
Surely smilie I change the world simply by my existence… don’t ya see the glow around me? *bg* No, all jokes aside, I don’t like writing about worldshaking things or political issues so much… I prefer blogging along.

How long you would still like to blog?
As long as I have time for it and enjoy it.

Do you effect a social engagement for our association, whether within the blogosphere or beyond?
I translated a plugin into german and enabled a theme of mine for download for the collective good. Besides? Ah, I know, my TV-guide subscription benefits a young man who can make an education thereby.

What does the beginning of a new day mean for you?
Good morning dear solicitudes, yet here as well?

What do you notice when sojourning in the forrest?
I mostly look all the time after animals which run wild and other dogs we could meet. When I’m in the forrest, I’m always with my dog, and as she is a little hunting freak I have to pay attention exceptionally. It happens very fast that she runs away, and then I’m standing there and waiting half an hour!

What do you think about your own death?
I do not think about that ’cause otherwise I get depressive. I don’ like thinking about the fact that I will die one day, because I always envision how it feels to be no more… horrible.

Today I am lazy on throwing, so I just throw the baton up in the air. Catch it if you want so!

Don’t confuse me like that…

Today I was at the dentist. After having been on my last legs the last two days, it was high time. On the way to the practice I had already horror scenarios of bleeding wisdom teeth and root canal treatments haunting in my head, inwardly fearing the worst.

My last visit to the dentist was in Seelscheid, where we lived about a year ago. By and by the way to the practice became to long, and so I brought myself to search for another dentist. My best friend recommended him to me.

When I arrived i first wondered about the empty waiting room. A quarter of an hour later it was my turn and trembling I took a seat on the dental chair. Dr. Kuhn is really very friendly and appears calmative! I explained to him where my teeth hurted and that I get panic when being at the dentist, and then he looked at the misery.

I was not so wide off the mark with the wisdom tooth – but I did not bargain for that: He told me that the tooth doesn’t have to be pulled! Only the gums where inflamed and so I’d get a salve against the inflammation under my gums, which are still hanging half over the wisdom tooth.

Since one year I shirk going to the dentist ’cause she told me that my wisdom tooth must be pulled – and suddenly he is about to stay? To play safe, the doctor x-rayed my teeth, and then I could go home. I still got a prescription for an analgesic and an appointment two days later. On the one hand I am glad that no tooth was pulled, but then I am afraid that those horrible pains came from elsewhere. Is it possible that I get such racking pains by a simple gingivitis?

I would be pleased if you’d report about your experiences with toothhache. Does anybody know a household remedy against the pains? Or is somebody out there who had a gingivitis? Anybody who kept his wisdom teeth and can tell how it feels when they’re growing?

International Women’s Day

Today, on March 8., the world is celebrating the international women’s day. You don’t know what it is? Wikipedia tells us:

International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked on 8 March every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. Started as a political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries (primarily Russia and the countries of former Soviet bloc).

Today many events are held by women’s groups around the world. The global women’s organization Aurora hosts a free worldwide register of IWD local events (www.internationalwomensday.com) so that women and the media can locate local activity. Many governments and organisations around the world support IWD. For example, HSBC hosts a range of IWD activity including co-hosting of the UK’s flagship IWD event with women’s group Aurora. Global interest in IWD shows a steady increase.

Even in today’s modern world there are still countries where women are less worthy than men – and that must be amended. The international women’s day stands for that. What’s your opinion?

Baton: Ambigram

Jared has created this baton and it appeals to me so much that I attach myself. And that’s what it is about: Write your own name (or whatever you want) as an ambigram. For that purpose there is a website which generates ambigrams automatically.

What is an ambigram? Wikipedia says: An ambigram, also sometimes known as an inversion, is a graphical figure that spells out a word not only in its form as presented, but also in another direction or orientation.

And here it comes: My ambigram!

Ambigram

And I pass it to Mabel and Jale!
