I just asked myself from time to time what “Chinese Proof” on Prinzzess’ blog does mean. No I googled it and found this website. There you can test your page and figure out if it’s available in China.
Background: Apparently many websites are blocked by the Chinese government, so Chinese people can’t access those pages. The reason for a page being blocked often are not comprehensible. So I just tested my three pages. Now guess what was the result!

Yeah, you got it. My blog is blocked! The same here:

And at long last also my rats page:

That’s really not nice, dear Chinese chief of state! After all I am so meek. I’m definitely no menace to your national security!

Today I went for a walk with my mistress and as it was quite sunny outside, we took a bally with us and planned to go playing on our favourite greenfield after that. That greenfield is so beautiful and big, and it’s surrounded by fences on three sides. My mistress says that’s practical because I can’t run away. It’s a vacant estate.
But when we just arrived the greenfield and I already was looking forward to my bally like crazy, a man came rearward the fence from a neighbouring plot. He wanted us to leave, because his children used to play football on that greenfield. The owner reputedly also had complained yet that dogs make poohs on his greenfield, although it wasn’t me!
I don’t understand that. Why are the children allowed to play on the greenfield, but not me? That’s so mean. My mistress also was very sad, and we walked home again. That’s just not fair.

One more baton! Got it from Anna and so I will answer it right now.
Which time of day do you prefer for blogging?
That’s different, depending on when I have time for it. I don’t have a specific time for blogging.
How long does it take you to write a post?
Depends on the post’s length, between 10 minutes and 2 hours. This one will be about 10 minutes.
Which typing system do you use?
10-finger typing – proudly learned typist! ;)
How clean are your keyboard and your monitor (between totally raunchy and spick ‘n’ span)?
Aseptic clean… I don’t like having those sweaty fingerprints on it, ugh…
Do you use a spell checker?
No, ’cause I am a spell checker myself.
What kind of music do you listen to when writing?
Mostly I don’t listen to any music as it distracts.
What do you recommend to attract an retain new readers?
Wait and see!
What is the biggest mistake a blogger can make?
To blog only because it’s hip.
Whom you would never link in your Blogroll?
Websites that are no blogs.
On which site would you like to be linked?
Hem… on www.w3.org! They have PR 10 *bg*
And as I could nearly say that I’m among senior bloggers with my half year and think that we should give some initial aid to young bloggers, I just satisfied Annas link wish and added her to my blogroll.

Monikas blog Webdesign-in.de celebrates it’s second birthday, and to mark the occasion there is a birthday baton, as I heard from SuMu. So let’s get started!
Since when do you blog and do you still have fun blogging?
I blog since december 2006 and I still have a lot of fun with it. Sometimes I just don’t have enough time, then it’s a bit silent here for a few days.
Do you know “Webstandards”? What are they good for?
I think that means CSS and XHTML standards. They are designed for my homepages to appear the same in all browsers. Very useful
How do you explain to your grandma what a blog is?
I tell her that it’s a kind of diary, in which I can write to the internet what happens to me and what touches me.
When you hear the word “Silver Surfer”, which age class do you think of?
Err, honestly I don’t think of any age class, but of this blog…
Who or what is “SEOigg”?
Seems to be a blog about SEO (search engine optimisation) and online marketing.
When and where do all blogs, websites, homepages meet, who redesign in 2007 and thus reboot their CSS (only german pages)?
At cssneustart.de on July 1st 2007 at 0:00 o’clock!
How many visitors did WebDesign-in.de have till June 2006?
I am perky and copy from SuMu: 354463!
Well, that’s it. I don’t know if I did it properly, ’cause I don’t know what Monika means by umasked links… but whatever.

Take: A laptop, a car, a driver and a large city. In our case that are a Schneider Hyrican notebook, a VW Golf III, Tom and Cologne. Slightly drive through the city and search for wireless networks time and again – the Windows integrated WLAN manager is absolutely adequate. As soon as you have found an unsecured wireless network, assign the driver to stop. Search for a parking place and click Connect. Now you have to wait.
Yeah, and some seconds or minutes later, depending on the connection’s quality, you are inside! It’s really that easy. Now you can surf to your heart’s content, catch up your emails or whatever else you want to do. Within five minutes I counted 6 or 7 unsecured wireless networks. I just would have to choose one.
So here’s my appeal: Dear inhabitants of Cologne, please, please lock your WLAN networks! You surely don’t want the whole world to surf via your wire, do you? It’s not that difficult to set up a WEP or WPA encryption and protects you against unbidden visitors. Who knows in what mischief those surfers get into on your WLAN…
ADVICE: I explicitely request nobody to use other people’s WLAN. That’s shameless and in most countries it’s also illegal. Read more about it here.

Since it warmed up during the last days, the big handicap of an attic flat manifests like every summer: It is just much too hot. And not only that, no: The hottest room is principally that one you are located. If it’s in the night and you want to sleep, the bedroom has an apparent temperatur of 50 degrees Celsius. By day you mainly stay in the living room, so consequently the living room is the warmest room all over the flat.
Nothing helps, not airing, no shutters, not even a fan. How could he, he only blows the warm air from one of the room’s corners to the other. And as if that wasn’t enough, very propably I’ll get a backache due to the blow. Sometimes you just want to shower all day. Or just run about half-naked. For the sake of reputability.
Even the dog doesn’t want to move anymore and lies around on the kitchen’s tiles the whole day. You can’t even think of cooking, as the kitchen would heat up on approximately 60 degrees Celsius thereby. Strangely, indoors it seems to be even more hot than outdoors…
So I praise technology, as it created convenient things such as air conditioners! I will fetch it first thing tomorrow morning and activate it. Then the big sweating is over!

Yihaa, I have been chosen! A few days ago I applied for the job as fanstory editor on Bisafans.de. And actually the winner is me! Now I am responsible for verifying and publishing Pokémon fanstories. I’m looking forward to the first transmittals and wonder what Pokémon fans like to write.
Here you can find the fanstory area on Bisafans (German only). Have fun browsing, some of those stories are written really very cute!

I got the game Pokémon Mystery Dungeon for my Birthday. Now I played through it, and that’s why now It’s time for a short review.
The player fills the role of a Pokémon. To decide which Pokémon you are, you have to answer a few questions. Then you can choose your partner Pokémon. I am Pikachu, my partner is Charmander.
At the beginning you wake up in a forest where a Pokémon badly needs help. You and your partner must go to the rescue. After that your partner tells you that he always wanted to found a Pokémon rescue team. A word and a blow, from now on you’re going to save Pokémon at need with your partner. At one go you try to find out why you changed into a Pokémon.
The degree of difficulty in my opinion is clearly lower than in previous Pokémon games and playing through goes faster. I finished it within a few days. The biggest difference between Pokémon Version red/blue etc. is that you’re playing a Pokémon, the second biggest difference is that the fights take place in the normal course of the game, no longer on the well-known battle monitor. However they’re still turn-based.

Playing the game at least is a great fun. Even an awesome function are the SOS letters which you can post off when you’ve been beaten in a dungeon. Via Wi-Fi Connection or password then you can make somebody recovering you. You can post SOS-letters here and get help very fast.

The Dutch TV Show by Endemol, in which a fatally ill woman provided her kidney to three candidates and the audience was supposed to decide who should get the kidney, was apparently just a fake. The woman is an actress, only the sick persons were authentic. Indeed they were informed that there wasn’t really a kidney provided in the show. Read more here.
The reason for that campaign: The broadcaster BNN wanted to call attention to the lack of organ donors in the Netherlands. BNN’s founder, Bart de Graaff, died of kidney failure five years ago, because he was waiting for an organ donation for vain. Like him, 200 people a year die in the Netherlands because they don’t get a kidney transplant betimes.
An absolutely plausible reason – but it remains macabre anyway. What do you think?
